Description
Based in central England in the town of Kidderminster, This large 3 bedroom property has hosted backpackers from around the world for 2 years.
Mikes aim has always been to host a broad range of guests from as many countries as possible at one time, with a recent expansion now complete, the travelhouse is able to accommodate up to 9 guests at any time.
My sole purpose is to be non profit making, Giving International guests the opportunity to view life outside of London at much less of a burden to their pockets.
The general trend amongst Backpackers is that they have saved for a long time before travelling to the UK to enjoy the UK for as long as the finances will allow. My aim is to ensure this happens!
Popular nationalities that stay at the travelhouse are often from New Zealand, Australia, Mainland Europe and the USA. However new countries are always welcome.
The travel house is situated a short distance from the bus and train stations, and is close the the towns shops and restaurants.

Travelling from Central London Take the tube to London Marylebone Station. • Underground Marylebone • Marylebone Tube Station • Zone: 1 • Line: Bakerloo • London Underground Ltd • Marylebone Station • Melcombe Place • LONDON • NW1 6JJ • Take the stairs/Esculator and follow the signs for BRITISH RAIL When you arrive on the main concourse of the Station look for the Ticket Office Cheapest Tickets available for Kidderminster are the Advance ticket ( Needs to be booked on the net by 1800 the day before you travel ) And the Super Saver Single/Return Tickets.Full details are available from the chiltern trains website.Please make sure you read the Websites ticket terms and conditions to make sure you travel at the correct times to get the cheap tickets benefit. • Ok so you booked your ticket now to the train.Check the electronic Destination boards.Depending on the time of day your travelling your train will either be destination Kidderminster or Birmingham Snow Hill. • The more likely senario is that you will be on a train destination Birmingham Snow Hill.I reccommend changing trains at Birmingham Moor street as it's much easier to change with Luggage.Just get off the train let it leave the station and low and behold a train in either Blue or green will arrive for Kidderminster or Worcester.Take this and call me when the train arrives at Stourbridge Junction and i'll be waiting for you at Kidderminster • By Coach • By far the cheapest way to get to my location at the moment with National Expresses very cheap Fun Fares available over the internet. • There are two locations you can take the national Express coaches from Victoria's Main coach station located in south London on the VICTORIA/DISTRICT and Circle Lines which is very handy if your travelling by bus from Europe or Golders Green in North London. • Golders Green Tube Station • Zone: 3 • Line: Northern • Golders Green Station • North End Road • London • NW11 7RN • I do recommend you buy your tickets on the net before Travelling it's very easy at www.nationalexpress.com Coaches run virtually 24 hours with a 30 Min service during much of the daytime period.Give me a call as you approach the Uk's second largest city Birmingham and i will collect you from the Bus Terminal. • By plane • Birminghams International Airport is the closest airport to Mikes Travelhouse and i'm very happy to meet you here or at any of the Uk's Major airport locations FREE OF CHARGE. • Travelling into the UK for the first time can be very daunting,Especially if your doing it for the first time.Having me or one of the other housemates meet you at the arrivals gate can take away the pressure of negotiating tubes,Maps and in some cases getting your head around the English language for the first time. • In order to set up a smooth meeting please provide the following info • 1 Flight arrival time • 2 Flight number and if possible Terminal Arriving (Heathrow Only) • 3 Recent Photo and cellphone number • Me or my representatives usually wear Hi visible jacket and carry a sign displaying MIKES TRAVELHOUSE and in all cases aim to meet you at the arrival gate |
