1  Bedbug heaven this is the worst backpacker i have ever seen. its so bad im going to ring the health inspectors. I GOT EATEN ALIVE AT NIGHT BY BEDBUGS. it is so dirty. i see the cleaner clean, it was a joke. the lady who runs it is a druggy.  , australia ()
1  Im an aussie and im disgusted. Good thing: The bedding is changed and bins are put out regularly. Bad things: Showers are dirty and not cleaned. Showers dont have mats for non slip. i fell over and hurt myself in my flip flops. Toilets not cleaned. Our aircon circuit was turned off as we were using too much power in 40 degree heat. Girls 20 bed dorm aircon was not fixed for three weeks and stayed that way for the rest of my stay. Fridges in the kitchen were at 30 degreess celcius therefore unsafe. The ovens did not work and the pool was never cleaned. I have made a complaint the the Western australian health inspectors office. I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE.  , Australian ()
1  Awful, stay away As mentioned by others: an awful smell especially in my room and the bathrooms (dirty socks and vomit). Bathrooms splattered with all sorts of human excrements and clearly not cleaned daily. Very noisy. Stains on the sheets, dust and used tissues under the bed. Hardly ever toilet paper available, too little showers. Suspect insects crawling. I have traveled all over the world and this is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in.  , NL ()
5  Best Backpacker in Perth Centre of the best part of Perth. Great vibe and staff are keen to help make your stay a fun experience. My room was clean and had a locker. aircon, TV and bathroom in it. Fast internet & huge screens. Had all the stuff you want from a backpacker.  , England ()
1  WORST OF THE WORST really, so bad it defies description. dont even step a foot into this door, and this is from someone who has traveled pakistan and india from top to bottom. the place is disorganised, crawling with bedbugs, nothing works, the bathrooms are filthy, and the staff rude and arrogant. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.  , Germany - Austria ()
1  Please dont stay here make no mistake this is the worst hostel you could stay in -- the worst hostel i have stayed in, in 3 months of traveling. I arrived at 11:45pm -- the only plus point -- 24 hour reception. i got to my room and boy you could hardly see the floor, there was so much luggage and clothes and other mess all over the floor! i wanted to have a shower but the only one available had no light and cold water. there are not enough showers for the number of people staying there. when i was trying to locate my room, i tried to talk to the people out in the courtyard but no one wanted to talk to me. the hostel is full of long termers who arent interested in talking to newcomers. when i saw the room i wanted to leave straight away but unfortunately i had book 10 nights. on the last night a guy in my room fell off the top bunk at 3am onto some poor girls bed and stayed there for 20 minutes. he was so drunk he couldnt move -- security had to be called to get him up. the security guard wanted to chuck him out of the hostel but his friend came in the room, also drunk, and said it was his last night in perth -- so the drunk guy was allowed to stay!! we turned the light off and tried to sleep but then the guy was sick on the floor. really please dont ever stay here you will regret it as soon as you step in the hostel -- just like i did.  , uk ()
4  Loved the PCs! Nice place -- great location right near the city and train station so you can shoot out of Perth whenever you want. They have the best internet solution I have seen in Perth. Big monitors with webcams built in. I was chatting to my girlfriend back home most nights on it on Skype. Made a massive difference as they are ran by Global Gossip. I would probably stay here again if I come back to Perth  , UK ()
4  Pretty well organised, bit of rat race for pots and pans after work! Stayed here for just over four weeks. Great location, literally three-minute walk from the centre, and ten-minute walk from Perth party central. Stayed in two rooms here, the first ten-bed was a bit cramped, everyone's stuff all over the place, took a few days to get my own locker, and bottom bunk. Luckily changed to the sixteen-bed dorm, plenty of floor space, and met a load of cool people. As for the Kitchen, dining and TV area, it was quite well spread out and clean. Just a bit of a nightmare round 5 till 7 after work with everyone fighting for the small amount of pots and pans. Conclusion, great place to stay. If you want to meet lots of new people, and on a budget, go for the sixteen-bed, it was about $10 cheaper per week and plenty of space.  , England ()
1  Awful place -- do not stay here! This is a really awful place with small, dingy, dirty rooms, and rude staff. My boyfriend and I had three nights booked here, however, after one night we chose to move to another place. We booked a double, en-suite room only to find out they messed up our booking. We were instead given a tiny single room (which they crammed a double bed into). It was so small that my backpack had to be stored at the end of the bed as there was no room on the floor. The air-con was broken and the little window in our room was jammed shut. We complained but were not offered a replacement room, or even a floor fan. So it was impossible to sleep. We had to share two toilets and two showers with with twenty-four other people (four dorms each with six beds in). The showers were no more than a lukewarm dribble, and the toilets stank of urine (after some of the guests used the sink as a toilet during the night as clearly the couple of loos available between us were both occupied!). The sanitary bin was overflowing and you would not want to go in the bathroom barefooted as there were all types of sticky substances on the floor. The kitchen was filthy, and the grill/oven was thick with food remains and rust. The hallway carpets were also filthy and covered in what looked like remains of vomit. The manager refused to refund us for the two nights which we canceled -- saying that the hostel didn't give refunds -- even though we stressed that the hygiene was unacceptable (and reminded them that they had messed up our booking in the first place). They even tried to charge us an additional fee for canceling the two nights. In a nutshell, don't stay here. There are far better backpackers to stay in.  , London, UK ()
3  Average I guess the receptionists have trouble with planning, because i heard from people and know from own experience that they mix up the reservations. They booked me in as a male (i do not know why, because i made this reservation personal one week before the stay) and had to reorganise when i arrived. first they wanted to book me in a fifteen-bed room or so -- looked clean but a bit like a refugee camp. finally they managed to book me in a six-bed room. private bathroom and shower, that was great and clean. the room was ok, but very hot (even in early november). i cannot say anything about the kitchen because i never used it. i normally left the hostel before the time of free breakfast. i chose that one because of the location. close to train and bus station. in front of the tour-pick-up-point, close to the city. ok!  ()
1  Absolutely filthy, the receptionist was useless, the rooms were awful and too stuffy, the bathrooms were a health hazard. I wouldn't prepare my dog's dinner in the kitchen for fear of poisoning him and most the people I met seemed to be on bail, not traveling, and were using the hostel as a cheap place to stay between Court hearings. It is located near the train station but also borders the worst area in Perth CBD. Certainly didn't feel safe walking around outside at night near the hostel, or in it. Oh, and bedbugs too -- if you could sleep in the stuffy heat keeping one eye on the criminals sleeping in your dorm arguing with each other over lost beer money. I still feel itchy thinking about it.  , nz ()
3  This is an ok Hostel, but I wouldn't rave about it. The good points -- it is right in the heart of the city, and a five-minute walk over the railway bridge to the clubs of Northbridge. It's clean, and they offer a couple of freebies, like free tea, coffee, and a huge telly with DVDs. All the rooms have fridges and a TV with DVD player. The bad news -- noise! The site next to it (which is where the old Globe was until it moved into this old pub) will be a construction site for the next four years while they build a huge shopping centre. so do not assume you will sleep in. The kitchen is a bit dark and dingy -- with only one sink and limited facilities. The pool is tiny -- just ten feet by twelve! Also there are drunken groups who hang around the pool all night drinking and playing music -- not good if you are in the private singles/twins, which all open out onto the pool! These en-suites are actually not -- and share a common bathroom. The doubles upstairs also look out directly onto the next door multi-story car-park. Not private at all! The dorms can be good value, but as 50% of the residents are Japanese language students (indeed, the hostel is Japanese run) and 25% are long term Aussie miner workers, there are very few real travelers here. There are much better alternatives for real backpackers in Perth. But I can see why some people rave about this place -- if you are a hard drinking Aussie though, you will become good mates with similar people.  , UK ()
1  One of the worst hostels I've stayed in in Australia. The place was filthy -- I've seen some dirty hostel bathrooms, but these ones are something else. Absolutely revolting and the smell in them is so ingrained that they stank even after they'd just been cleaned. It didn't help that they lost my internet booking, then got my phone booking wrong and when I got there their reception had to keep closing because the whole booking system seemed to have gone into melt-down and they didn't have the staff to sort it out. Wouldn't go back if they paid me to!  , England ()
3  I wasn't too impressed with this hostel. The room was pretty cramped, the kitchen was always messy, and the rooms were right next to the noisy courtyard. The bathrooms were good though and it did seem to have a sociable atmosphere. Location was spot on being right next to city centre, transport, and Northbridge.  ()
5  I thought this was the best hostel I stayed in during my entire trip around the world! The facilities were great -- bathrooms were totally private -- room with shower toilet and sink -- a welcome change! And I actually felt comfortable using the kitchen as it was cleaned everyday and I was happy to cook in it which I was certainly now happy to do in many other hostels. The rooms were comfy too -- stayed in six dorms (one all female the other mixed) and was happy with both. I would highly recommend this hostel!  ()
