Greatly improved -- new manager I was hesitant about staying here due to bad reviews. But the photos in another review showed that the Grand Canal location was outstanding, and that won me over. Fortunately the hostel had hired a new manager (Alex) in August 2009 and things are much improved. Breakfasts are more substantial, cleanliness is fine, and the place has a friendly, cheerful atmosphere. A problem with mosquitoes remains -- the manager is considering adding some screens. Ask for a bed in the dorm fronting the Grand Canal -- outstanding view!
