Location	Once you have cleared customs and collected your luggage, take an official cab to the booked house. The 20 km journey from Havana International Airport to the booked homestay normally takes about 30 minutes. The average ride to the city costs $25 - 30 CUC. Inform in advance your arrival details to Havana Homestay, this way your host will be prepared to receive you at home on time. I dont speak Spanish and there were no English speaking staff, but they were very patient with me and made me feel very welcome (I met Julia, Norma and Manuel). I paid for a double private room, which was basic, but a very good size with ensuite shower/toilet. I initially booked for the first 3 days of my stay in Cuba, but returned to Homestay for my final 2 days and they were very accomodating. The location was ok, Centro Habana is quite a distance from here, but I really got a feel for how real Cubans live, as it is very much a residential area. I would recommend this place for those more seasoned travellers, but the staff are very friendly and made it a good place to stay. — Marsha Blake (2010-04-02) Hostelbookers
