Description
Felinarul hostel is owned and run by a Romanian/Irish couple, and offers a friendly welcome. The old house was renovated with great attention to detail, with a mix of vintage Romanian furniture and crafts alongside modern facilities. An old fresco was discovered during renovations too!
The intimate cobblestone courtyard is a quiet oasis of calm in the heart of the old town, where customers and friends can hang out in the shade and sip a beer or glass of wine. There is also a restaurant in the same courtyard offering some of the tastiest food in town and home made lemonade and smoothies. The hostel also has chill-out zone, complete with a library of travel books and fiction.
An organic home-made breakfast is served each morning free of charge.

The breakfast is amazing, the yard and over all facilities very cozy. And the staff surely know what hospitality is about. The rooms and beds are in good shape, clean etc. The staff (i.e. irish romanian Helene) could give good advices and information about what to do in and around the city.

Lovely, friendly, helpful owner, gorgeous old building (but renovated very tastefully!), clean adequate kitchen, good hot showers, clean and nice-smelling toilets (very unusual for low-budget hostels!), pleasant room with enough space for both us and our bags (and the "double bed" was NOT two singles pushed together - WIN!), and to top it all, a great restaurant (same owner) in the same courtyard as the hostel entrance, which although on the pricey side for backpackers was very VERY good. We recommend the hamburger and the couscous salad :) .

I absolutely LOVE this place. The owners are so nice and Helen really goes above and beyond for her hostel customers. I had an amazing stay there and felt more as if I was staying in a friend's home rather than a hostel... they make you feel that at home there.
