Hawaii is beautiful, but these people are not I stayed there a couple different times in the last year. Its an affordable place, if thats what you're looking for. Hawaii is gorgeous no matter where you go, you can camp almost anywhere for free. The Hilo Tropical Garden should be called the Hilo Tropical Trailer. The staff is who work there are some of the most soul sucking poeple ive ever met. theres this one kook who wears daisy dukes and thinks he can heal people. he gets mad if you dont believe in his mumbo jumbo BS. I told him i dont believe in that stuff and he just started accusing me of being ignorant. I told him "look, you're on welfare, you live in a tent, you have nothing; your dependent on Trish for a place to stay, and you're dependent on the government for food stamps, there's nothing about you that suggests you have deep powers to heal, and you're actually harassing me while Im on vacation." he left me alone after I threatened to tell the manager. What a loser. Her other work trade is a meth-cooked hilbilly who has mood swings and lies about everything. He goes from docile to over-reacting at the drop of a hat. There's a loose girl who works there who's probably into the meth scene as she's always rolling with that crowd. And then there's Margaret who follows you around, constantly asks nosy questions, and gossips about everyone. That being said, Hawaii is beautiful, but these people are toxic. Be warned before you stay here, at least know what you are entering. — Anonymous , usa (2011-08-29)
