Pretty ordinary We stayed only one night at this place before bailing for a better option on the other side of the station. The hostel is close to the train station, but it's not the most convenient side for access to local trains and buses. It's much more convenient to be on the eastern side of the station. We were in a cramped 10 bed dorm, which was placed right next to the common room, kitchen, and bathroom, so there was constant noise. I don't know how many dorm beds SD has, but we only spotted one toilet and shower for the whole place. Luckily the shower has a timer on it, so people did move through fairly quickly. This is certainly not the worst hostel I've stayed in, but there are better options in Kyoto! — Casey , Australia (2010-01-04)
