Best service staff was very kind, helpful. rooms very quiet and clean. every day made our bed and bathroom. very nice decorated. location directly in centre, bus stop and office of national park very close. we were satisfied. — radek filipi , czech republic (2011-02-26) A gem of a place Located right on the waterfront facing the Sarawak parliament, the lodge occupies a tastefully restored 3 story Chinese merchant's house, now surrounded by the majority of Kuching's antique and artifact traders. Priced slightly higher than some of the other options, it does however take your ringgit that much further. All rooms, other than the dorms, have TV, phone, aircon, sheets, towels, and en-suite -- some behind a 3/4 wall with saloon doors. Rates compare favourably for a luxurious double with the cost of two dorm beds elsewhere. Louis and some of his staff have experience in 5 star hotels in Australia and insist on keeping up their standards -- your breakfast will be made for you (tea/coffee, toast, pandan cake, fruit), your bed made, and your toilet roll folded to a point! The property features three stairwells creating multiple courtyards and smokers' corners. Streetfront balconies across the upper stories offer evening breezes and a view of the locals along the riverfront. Best hostel I stayed in Malaysia, by far. — JohnH , Australia (2010-06-14)
