The Hostelz.com Review
Pewman Che Hostel is a fantastic, friendly, and relaxed hostel where you are likely to feel more like a member of the household than a guest. There is everything that you would need -- it has a good location and the owners are unbelievably friendly and helpful.
The Location
The hostel is on a quiet side street almost in between the historic part of town and vibey area of Neuva Cordoba. Both areas are within an easy and quick walk from the hostel -- in the surrounding area there are restaurants, shops, a laundry, and the crafts market (on weekends). You can take a taxi from the bus station for a small price, or you can walk in about twenty minutes -- head down Bv. Illia and take the first left after crossing the canal.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The rooms are comfortable and clean, there is the option of private rooms or dorms with different numbers of beds. There are ensuite rooms and some of the dorms have their own bathrooms, otherwise there are shared bathrooms. The bathrooms are all clean and there are good showers.
Common Spaces
The hostel has a TV room with a sound system, TV, and beanbags and couches in the reception area for guests to relax. There is also a pool table and a foosball table for guests to use and a computer with internet access (also Wi-Fi). There are two outside areas with tables and chairs as well as some seats on the front porch. There is a barbecue -- if you're lucky you might be able to take part in a real Argentinian asado on the weekends. The kitchen is very clean and well stocked with all that you need if you decide to make your own meals. Breakfast is included and involves a variety of Argentinian pastries with tea/coffee -- it's a really good breakfast!
Summary
Pewman Che has everything you need for a great stay in Cordoba and it's well located on a quiet side street but still close to all the sights. The thing that sets it apart, however, are the owners -- they are so friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to make you feel at home, give you information, and assist with further travel plans. This is a fantastic and highly recommended hostel.
