It's a converted hotel -- windowless rooms
Stayed here for three nights-late sept. 2009. Made booking two days beforehand -- on arrival this could not be found, but this seemed to happen often. I was asked to open up my email and show confirmation. the quoted price was even rounded down slightly. In fact this is a standard two- or three-star Chinese hotel, with mainly windowless rooms turned into a hostel. My room had four beds, two by two, and was a former single. It had own hotel-style bathroom and was very, very clean. AC worked properly. Very hard beds -- harder as in the trains. Location is excellent but amenities just on or below average. For the price no complaints. Dorms -- these rooms are mixed-sex. Staff is mixed -- some girls eager to please and speaking enough english, others not at all. there is a 7-11 convenience store right beside and a supermarket some five minutes away.
