Wester Caputh Lodge is an old farm steading on the outskirts of the village of Caputh which lies on the River Tay, 4 miles east of Dunkeld (pubs with great local music, nearest train station) and 10 miles north of Perth (hourly bus service to Caputh).
Excellent walking, mountain biking, fishing, bird watching, canoeing & rafting. Five castles and 4 distilleries within an hour's drive.
A large sitting/dining/kitchen space opens onto a sunny outside terrace. There is a stone fireplace with wood-burning stove (logs supplied) and a piano, along with other instruments, for guests to use.
The kitchen is complete with stainless steel double sink, two gas hobs, an electric oven and a large fridge. The kitchen also has a microwave, a toaster and masses of pans.
Accommodation is in five separate bedrooms: 2 rooms with 2 bunks; 1 room with 2 bunks + double fold-out bed; 1 room with 4 bunks; and 1 room with 6 bunks. Beds come with pillows and duvets, made up with clean linen.
Outside: a grassy area surrounds the hostel, complete with picnic tables and BBQs (charcoal available to purchase).
