The Hostelz.com Review
Good Feeling Hostel Algarve is situated in Raposeira, a little village near Lagos. The great strong point is the relaxed atmosphere you find and the management of the owner, Hugo, who is so friendly and kind with everyone.
The Location
The hostel is just aside the main street of Raposeira but don't think it's noisy -- the street isn't crowded at all so the hostel is very quiet all day and night! There are no signs for the hostel but it's so easy to find because it's on the top of a little hill and it's the biggest building in the town so everyone in Raposeira can see it! The location is the only inconvenient thing -- it is twenty kilometers from Lagos and a few kilometers from the nearest beach. This could be a problem if you don't have a car but the owner is so kind that everyday he takes people to the beach with his own car! And from and to Lagos there are buses in the street just in front the hostel. We didn't have a car when we stayed, and it wasn't a problem at all to move around.
Rooms and Bathrooms
Rooms are quiet and pretty spacious. The bunk beds are very beautiful and everyone has his own lamp and a little table. There are two bathrooms in the house (enough for the few guests) and the owner cleans them everyday. The showers are very large and the water pressure is amazing! It is a pleasure to have a shower at Good Feeling!
Common Spaces
The kitchen is large and well equipped. There are many little fridges, a big table, and everything you need to cook your own meals. The common room is very spacious -- there are two big tables, lots of cushions, a huge TV, a stereo, a DVD player, and a computer with free internet. In the evening Hugo cooks the dinner for everyone in the house and all the guests eat in the common room. It's a wonderful way to socialize! The dinner is good, huge, and cheap -- it's definitely worth it! A great bonus of the hostel is the little porch where there are hammocks where you can relax and socialize.
Summary
Good Feeling is one of the best hostels we've ever been. It's beautiful, cozy, and friendly. The owner speaks English very badly (he's better with Spanish and Portuguese) but he always understands what you say. If you want to relax in a place with a wonderful atmosphere, go here!
