The Hostelz.com Review
Guests feel welcomed and secure here at City Bike Nunne Hostel.
The Location
The hostel is ten minutes' walking distance from the train station. From the coach station you will have to take a tram first to the train station and then walk to the Old Town. The hostel is on a cobbled main street in the Old Town with a bar across it and a shop for classical music right next to it. The neighbourhood is busy with pedestrians. At night it can be a little noisy with all the party people on the streets of Talinn.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The double rooms are functional and in the style of the old house (early 1900s) in which the hostel is set. There is a no-longer-working oven in the double rooms, the heating is electric. The wooden floor is a nice touch. There are no lockers in the double rooms. Double rooms are on the second floor of the building and have no toilet facilities. You have to manage some steep steps until you get there. Dormitory rooms are one floor up.
The second floor also holds the reception. The reception is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guests are handed a key for the main door as well as their room. Nobody passes the reception without being noticed so the whole floor seems very secure.
The common toilet is well looked after with toilet paper and soap and clean. They have a sauna which is available for a small fee. The one shower (which is for the floor of four double or triple rooms) is clean and so is the rest of the washing facilities. There is a mirror and some shelves to put your stuff.
Common Spaces
The kitchen area is cozy, with a large dining table. They have an oven but that was out of order during our stay so the only cooking implements were a kettle, a fridge, and a microwave. There is a dining table and a comfy sofa as well as one computer with fast internet access. The hostel has lots of brochures and information on Talinn, Estonia, and even Finland. They have lockers behind the reception desk. Guests are most likely to come together in the dining area. It has a laid-back vibe to it.
Summary
All in all, this hostel -- especially the floor with the double or triple rooms -- is more on the quiet side.

Clean hostel, friendly staff This small hostel on the fourth floor of an old house is an excellent place to stay in Old Town Tallinn. Close to many bars and restaurants. Offers several interesting tours; inexpensive; friendly, helpful staff; and is a quiet place to stay in the winter. The only drawback was the extremely almost-vertical stairs! I was there for a week in November 2008. Would recommend to friends. — Tony Giles , British (2008-11-22)
