I visited Doe Bay this past weekend. (Apr. 05) After many years of neglect the place has new ownership, which provides a refreshing presence. It's been two years of cleanup, construction and a return to the values we enjoy. I'll return shortly. It takes hard work and time, just be patient.

This place is beautiful and mellow. There is no TV, no phones, but there is meditation and yoga. The prices here are the cheapest in the San Juans, home of the priciest real estate in Washington. The new owners are making the hostel better without losing the charm. This is a great getaway, even for a weekend in the winter.
