Bled Hostel

Bled Hostel was formerly the 1004 Hostel but now has been renamed the Bled Hostel. It is totally new within the last one-and-a-half years. There are no stairs because the hostel is on the ground floor. Laundry is available for a fee. There are no storage lockers due to the small area but luggage storage can be arranged upon request. Towels and sheets are included. It is attached to the 1004 pub, so the reception hours match the pub hours. There is no air conditioning but heating is available. It is small but the staff are nice and the atmosphere is friendly and fun. Guests from the adjacent Castle Hostel all socialize in the 1004 pub.

The Location

It is a three-minute walk from the bus station. There is a grocery store around the corner. Parking is available on the street. There is bicycle storage. Bled Hostel is located near the lake at the foot of the Bled Castle, which is on a cliff. It has the same address as the Castle Hostel and the 1004 pub and the two hostels are next to each other.

Rooms and Bathrooms

There are two mixed-gender dorms with six ensuite beds. It is a bit cramped, with an extra bed taking up most of the floor space. It is in mint condition however and the beds are brand new and very comfortable. The bathrooms are spotless. There is plenty of hot water.

Common Spaces

There is no kitchen for guest use. The common area is actually the pub, which has free internet access. There are games such as darts and space for hanging out and socializing. Lots of guests from the hostel hang out there to meet people and have fun.

Summary

This hostel is completely refurbished and everything is clean and in mint condition. Arrangements can be made for excursions, sports activities, and other things to see and do in Bled. Video cameras are being installed for security. This is a good hostel for budget minded travelers who don't mind a lack of personal space and want a clean place, a good location, and a good value for the money.
