BEDBUGS, filth, liars! DO NOT stay here! This is no hotel or hostel, it's a disgusting junkyard filled to the roof with filth, dirt, grime, broken furniture, garbage and BEDBUGS! We had booked for the beginning of August 2011 and found the following conditions: The bathroom was so dirty I almost threw up. The whole place is UNSAFE in every respect: no way to securely lock your room, holes in floors and walls, bloodstains, grime and dirt alive with crawly creatures, electric wiring that could electrocute you! The staff are less than helpful. If you ask for clean bed linens or towels, they hand you dirty ones. Not even our discovery of BEDBUGS in our room seemed news to them. After reading the previous comments and reviews, I can say that we found the same shocking and disgusting conditions that have been described here since 2004, but as we booked through a different site, we didn't see these reviews until afterward. The staff STILL claim that online bookings don't exist and deposits made there are nonexistent. They STILL try to charge you more. They STILL say they have a no-refund policy, but don't let them fool you! We got our money back after half an hour of heated discussions. My review on another site was deleted because they deleted their hotel there and added a new entry right afterward. These people clearly know what they're doing, I would call this fraud! We have reported this place to the local tourist information and health authorities. — Julia , German (2011-08-27)
Disgusting very dirty hotel and rooms full of hoes, drug dealers, bedbugs, and even gunshots by night. very dangerous hotel, stay away from this -- they will steal your money. stay away from this hotel!! — sam , canada (2011-02-28)
Do not stay here. Cheap, crack house like. Liars, cheats, and will steal you money. — Someone Pissed off. , Canada (2010-07-24)
Cheats and Liars Firstly this hotel (the word hotel overstates the hole this place is) give you the feel that it is a haven for drug dealers and I was extremely surprised that I didn't see a chalk body outline on the hallway floor or have to walk under police tape to enter my room. To make things worse they stole from me. A $50 unauthorised, unwarranted transaction went through my credit card because they claim I didn't stay there and I was charged a cancellation fee. Well I did stay there and I'm surprised I didn't catch flees off the bedding. Poor service, liars and stealing cheats. Do not stay here! — Bruce Tschell , Australia (2010-01-18)
Disgraceful, Should be shut down Don't let the pictures fool you, this place is a disgusting hell hole. There were drug dealers staying here and its just filthy. Save your money. This place should be reported to the authorities. — Gary (2008-09-27)
Horrible If you want bedbugs; dirty carpets, beds, and bathrooms; a staff who does not care about your happiness; a maid who does not clean at all; and no air conditioning, then stay here. But if you want a clean, nice hotel, pay an extra $50 and stay somewhere else. Don't say you haven't been warned. I think crackhouses are nicer than this place. — Anonymous (due to litigation) , USA (2007-07-05)
Where do I start? I arrived there and person at desk was chatting on phone and stayed there for twenty minutes before speaking to me. I paid the room for the week. I walked up the stairs and the hand railing was hanging, there were holes in the walls and I thought to myself, what am I getting myself into? There was a room beside mine with the door busted and hanging off its hinges. I get into my room and there was a bloody handprint on the wall above the bed. and as for the bed, totally disgusting. blood stained sheets and hair all over the pillows. I was so pissed. I quickly went downstairs and demanded new bedding. so the guy hands me one sheet. what a flippin joke. all night people were yelling from a room next to mine. they hadn't paid for their room. and they were using it for prostitution. the police ended up being called. I was afraid to leave my things in the room for the fear of having them stolen so I left on the second day of a seven-night stay. they would not refund my money. this place is a joke. only thing good about it was its price. I would recommend this place for pimps and ho's only. — Someone Who Will Never Stay There Again (2006-07-19)
Though we had made a booking (through hostelz.com), including making a deposit, the manger knew nothing about it. He was unable to log in to check bookings and wouldn't honour our deposit. He recommended getting our deposit back. After bringing this up with hostelz.com, who have been very helpful, the manger has done a one-eighty and now says he did honour our deposit. Luckily for us there was a room free for two of the four nights we planned to stay. Apart from this we were woken at 3 a.m. one night with someone trying to check someone into our room. Their excuse through the door? "Sorry I forgot this room was occupied." — Mat (2006-05-31)
I stayed last week and found a BIG tick in the bed. Pillowcases were not washed for long time and smell strong with hair on it. There is no refund policy. Their website looks very nice but I strongly do not recommend this one. I will try to contact city of Toronto to inspect this accommodation provider since I do not agree with their way of doing business. — James (2005-11-24)

The hostel is combined with a hotel, which is new. Although the facilities are minimal, the location and the price were great. I would recommend it. — Anonymous (2005-03-01)

This hostel is in a good location, and it seems to be safe, but it did not provide many of the amenities that were claimed on Web site. The linen provided at the desk was one flat sheet only, and the room was minimally acceptable for cleanliness. — Anonymous (2005-01-01)
We had booked this hostel online and on arrival found it to be simply disgraceful. Firstly, we had problems with the check in process, as they are unorganized and unhelpful. The hostel was also very dirty. When we reached our room (which is in a separate building) we were informed by a guest not to stay here as the beds had bedbugs in them. After looking at the state of her arms and the state of the room I can't say I was surprised. We obviously didn't stay. We were not refunded our deposit (which they didn't even acknowledge we paid) and we would definitely NOT recommend anyone stay here. If I knew the process I would have reported it to the authorities. — Matt (2004-12-13)

I was at this hostel last week and it's been renovated. Although there are no common rooms, etc., the facilities are clean and the location is very good. — Anonymous (2004-11-19)
