5 The best option by far for Mount Washington overnighters on a budget. The staff will even arrange for the ski bus to pick you up in the morning en route and take you home at night. The common room could use a bit of work to make it cozier, but I stayed there in the first year it was open. It might have improved since then. Lots of woodsy exposed beams and hardwood floors.

5 The hosts are cool, the hostel is gorgeous (all renovated with beautiful wood floors and bright paint), and Cumberland is a lovely little town. I highly recommend staying here!

5 This hostel was great! I stayed for two nights with friends and had a good time. The beds and linens were clean. The atmosphere was laid-back and everyone was really nice. It's a great place for ski/snowboarders, and only a short drive to Mount Washington. This place is great — check it out!

4 This was definitely a fun place to be for a night or two. Cumberland has lots to offer in the sporting way, and it's easy to hook up with people to get to the lake, the mountain, parks or trails. The hostel was squeakingly brand new, but surprisingly comfortable and laid-back. The floors are all wood and there's a good ambience going on. It's also right on the main drag, so wherever you want to go in such a small town, it's right there for you. The Waverley Hotel a few doors away has a good jam night most weeks, the coffee shop downstairs will make every kind of caffeine you need in the morning, and the bike shop is next door once you get buzzed for the day.
