The Hostelz.com Review
X Hostel Waikiki is a medium-sized hostel located in a village called Euxinograd, between Varna and Golden Sands. The building sits in a beautiful garden of bamboo trees and has a comfortable, very social atmosphere.
The Location
X Hostel is a fifteen-minute bus ride from Varna and is also fifteen minutes away from Golden Sands (by bus). You can catch buses 8, 9, 109, 209, 309, or 409 from the center of Varna (the Cathedral). Ask the bus lady for "Marek" bus stop. Once you get off you need to follow the signs into the village. Be sure to keep a look out for the signs because it can be easy to get lost! The beach is a ten-minute walk away and the views of the sea from the terrace are pretty good. There is plentiful parking on the street and it is free.
Rooms and Bathrooms
There are two dorms in this hostel, one with seven beds and another with four beds. There is also the option of two private rooms which are on the second floor and also two private rooms on the first floor next to the main dorm. Unfortunately there are no lockers in this hostel (or at least the dorm we were in), which can be a problem if you are paranoid about theft (like us!) but nothing of ours was stolen, nor did we hear of anyone complaining about theft.
There are three toilets and bathrooms in this hostel, which seem to be enough. The bathrooms are pretty modern and generally clean. A positive aspect is that the bathrooms are roomy enough to leave your clothes somewhere without them getting soaked when you are having a shower.
Common Spaces
The common spaces in this hostel are probably the best part. These include the kitchen, a mini pool, a smokers-type lounge outside, a BBQ area outside with a wood oven, a lounge with internet/Wi-Fi, and a bar in the basement. The kitchen is in the basement almost underground, but is roomy and generally ok despite the mass of dishes that seemed to be piling up when we were there. The lounge room has a very casual, almost home-like feel to it with a comfortable social feeling. The only problem is the occasional smoker. The mini pool is tiny and slightly ridiculous, but nice to dip your feet in and drink some beers with friends on a hot day.
Summary
Overall this is a fun, pretty wild hostel with an awesome vibe and a good level of comfort.

I had the best time of my life and ended up getting an "X" tattoo! In this hostel gives much more than just a bed: staff become friends, day and night there are so many events and excursions that you will have to remake your travel plans to fit everything in! Beach party and Foam party were really over the top. Something special of this place: guests have started to get the hostel's logo (an X) permanently tattooed on themselves.
