HI - León - Albergue Municipal Hostel

This hostel is mainly visited by people doing the Camino de Santiago peregrinación. It's located about a twenty-minute walk from the bus and train station and is quite easy to find. Just go to the other side of the river and take right of the big boulevard. You'll arrive at a corrida stadium and just take the street at left behind it and continue straight, you'll arrive right on Campos Góticos.

All receptionists are really nice and try to help you. Some don't speak a lot English but still try to help the best they can. They know the city and can point on a map the main tourist sights.

The location is ok. It could be closer to the center but really it's not far away, you just have a five-minute walk What is great is there's a lot of supermarkets around. While there's no kitchen in the hostel, there is a dining room with a microwave -- enough for some frozen meals. Next to the dining room is the common area with TV and couch. The two free internet computers are situated in front of the reception area.

Everything is clean in the hostel -- rooms, dining room, common room, bathrooms, and showers. The bathroom/showers are different for male and female. There's a lockout for cleaning.

So all in all it's a very good hostel. In winter, it's a little calm but there's normally always at least two or three people doing the Camino de Santiago peregrinación. In the summer there are a lot more people.
