A hidden jewel Three of us stayed here in 1986 and to this day, I have only the fondest memories of this hidden jewel tucked away in the northwest Spanish countryside a bit off the beaten path, thankfully! We came to Solorzano by accident -- the hostel in Santander was closed for repairs, this was the nearest place, and sunset was fast approaching. We were the only overnight guests, in early August no less, but had the pleasure of sharing our breakfast with the schoolchildren who studied on the property. Very simple facilities, but clean, with comfortable beds and a lovely view of the small village.
