Ribadesella is a wonderful, if rather touristy town, which is well worth a visit. But staying here was the most ghastly experience I have had hostelling. The warden and her young team do all they possibly can to be awkward, rude, and even plain hostile. Don't try rinsing wet clothes in the basins -- you will get shouted at. Don't take young children -- they will be terrified by the large dog just left roaming the site. Do take a friend, though as they will get asked to pay your bill. Food is available and is ok if the ants crawling all over the table don't put you off. There is no heating so if you arrive during a deluge as my daughter and I did, be prepared for a long, cold night. Better still, stay somewhere else.
