2 Nice friendly atmosphere   — Customer review (2011-10-04) Hostelbookers
5 The atmosphere was great, really one of those backpacker spots where you want to stay at least a few nights. The staff was really friendly and helpful! The hostel actually feels like you're in a Japanese home, not one of those way too big very impersonal hostels, it has a homely feel! Absolutely loved it! In fact we're gonna go there for a second time because we liked it that much. The hostel is has a very nice location, close to tennoji station and Den den machi.   — Aaron van Hees (2011-08-19) Hostelbookers
5 The staff were very kind and accomodating. It is a cozy environment that allows you to really feel at home. It's also very close to the station and all of the major sites around Osaka are easily accesible from the area where the guest house is located.   — Customer review (2011-08-12) Hostelbookers
1 Wifi and 4 free computers to use downstairs.   — Customer review (2011-07-15) Hostelbookers
3 Cheap and in an interesting suburb, if quite far from central osaka   — Customer review (2011-07-10) Hostelbookers
4 The atmosphere and the fact it was small.   — Customer review (2011-07-05) Hostelbookers
4 cheap quiet neighborhood, near subway and some attractions   — Customer review (2011-06-09) Hostelbookers
5 When I first entered peacehouse I felt straight at home, the house has a very traditional vibe. The staff wasn't there yet but the other guests were really friendly and helpfull. I grew to love this place as days passed, and ended up staying alot longer than I originally expected. They have this awesome deal for longstay guests, making the place one of the cheapest in Osaka. Occansionally the house throws a putluck party, wich are alot of fun and gives you the chance to experience some foreign cooking! In total it was an awesome stay!!   — Shawn Berg (2011-06-01) Hostelbookers
4 The friendly and helpful staff and the traditional Japanese-style family room with tatami mats.   — Customer review (2011-05-06) Hostelbookers
5 As soon as you walked into the place you felt like you were at home! Lovely other guests, an amazing owner who was really interested in your travels, and who was happy to help inform you of local activities, clean comfy beds! I had a great stay!   — Customer review (2011-03-24) Hostelbookers
4 The staff was very friendly, as well as the backpackers staying there. We had a warm welcome, and the atmosphere was nice.   — Customer review (2011-03-22) Hostelbookers
4 Yumi is a very friendly, open and helpful owner. She gave us valuable advice for our city tour and we even got offered self-made japanese desserts when we arrived. Japanese style living room gives a great atmosphere and is a good place to interact with other travellers. Free computers and wireless also a plus. Hostel is located in a japanese neighbourhood, nice & quiet, but still not far from the subway station from where the city centre can be reached easily.   — Christian Kern (2011-01-08) Hostelbookers
5 it was just as it described. we were staying in a house, not a hotel or dorm type hostel. the room we had was incredibly cozy and comfortable. The owner is very nice and helpful and the rest of the staff were helpful with suggestions. its a very family feeling place and we enjoyed our stay here very much!!!!   — Yolanda Gomez (2011-01-06) Hostelbookers
4 Very good atmosphere, we fill like home with some new friends. Yumi the manager is very friendly and helpful and she makes you feel comfortable in her cute traditional house :) One of the best guesthouse experience I had on 4 months traveling in Asia !   — Vivien Millet (2011-01-04) Hostelbookers
4 Friendly and helpful service   — Customer review (2011-01-02) Hostelbookers
4 The atmosphere was great! The owners were around quite a bit and were really helpful, and the people staying there were really friendly. I would recommend spending your down time in the living area- people are constantly walking through or gathering there, and it's a great place to make new friends.   — Customer review (2011-01-01) Hostelbookers
5 We have all stayed there - That guest house that you just wish you could have stayed at for longer. In Osaka, that place is without a doubt Peace House! I had the joy of spending one night there, and the only thing holding me back from extending my stay was my previously purchased plane ticket out of Japan. If you want a delicious taste of the true culture of Japan for a fraction of the cost, then this is the place to go. The house is run by a very chic and welcoming host named Yumi, who was a delight to be around and very helpful in helping me utilise the short time I had in Osaka to the fullest. Easy to find and located very close to Tennoji Station, the traditional house had a variety of Japanese style and western rooms. An aura of fun and elegance radiates the homey feel of this house, and the common area even has a beautiful kimono hanging up amidst the array of cultural delights. We were happy staying here and decided to leave a good review because I'm certain there are other travellers like me out there who are searching for a place to stay in Japan and want a true experience. Here is a run down of the rooms: Bedrooms: I stayed in a Japanese style room with tatami mats, and that beautiful burst of rice straw scent hits you as you enter the room. Very picturesque with traditional ornaments lining the room, it was a very peaceful nights sleep. Bathroom: Western and Japanese style bathrooms, both very clean! The light even turns on automatically when you open the door :) If you want a Japanese experience then you should come to Peace House. Remember this is a budget accommodation, and the price is satisfyingly low, so it's worth mentioning the obvious: don't have unrealistic expectations for the price. Personally, I believe if you come to Japan, you have to stay in a Japanese-style place. Of all the mid-range and budget options available, this is the best place to stay in Osaka. You are essentially getting everything you imagine when you picture coming to Japan, except instead of paying 12,000+ yen for a hotel room you're getting a delicious taste of the true culture of Japan for a fraction of the cost.   — Lisa Furlong (2010-12-29) Hostelbookers

3  Cramped, but friendly This place is run out a family home. It's very social and the owners go out of their way to introduce guests to Japanese culture. Also brilliant is the free internet in the common room. But the dorm rooms are beyond cramped and tremendously messy. If you can get past the mess it's a social place to stay, but I found it a bit off-putting.  , Australia ()
