Nadi Bay Resort Hotel lives up to its name as a hotel and definitely doesn't feel like a backpacker establishment. From the well manicured lawns and gardens to the several pools that are scattered throughout the property, you could be miles away from Nadi but you're literally minutes away. Don't let the hotel name put you off either, it's very social and full of budget travelers. Also absent are the inflated hotel prices -- Whispers & Mango's restaurant serve delicious but very affordable food. You can also grab a snack at one of the bars scattered throughout the complex. Sky TV is available and sporting events become big occasions here, so you won't be missing out. There are also nightly movies if that's more your style.
The dorm rooms available are either four-bed or eight-bed. The good thing is there are no bunk beds so you've got plenty of space and can stash gear under your bed. You can also choose an air-conditioned or fan-cooled room. The top level dorms seem to be very breezy and even without air conditioning it's unlikely it'll get too stuffy. Day rooms are available between flights and it's a good option -- you can relax in peaceful surroundings or shut the blinds if you need some sleep. Toilet and shower areas are basic but clean -- hot water is also available, which is a bonus in Fiji.
The hotel attracts mid-range budget travelers and is good if you're looking to spend a tiny bit more for added comfort. In saying that, it's not as expensive as the flashpacker options available in Nadi. So you won't get the wireless internet, printing services, or added technical know-how. But you're definitely not slumming it, that's for sure.
The hostel offers free transfers from the airport, but arranging transport back to the airport is subject to availability. If you've got a tight schedule or an early morning flight you might want to arrange something else in advance or possibly look elsewhere. You're very close to the international airport -- the only giveaway is the occasional aircraft noise and unless you're a very light sleeper it shouldn't be an issue. Other than that you'll feel like you're relaxing on an island miles away.

It's a great place to stay, clean, great staff, and a good atmosphere Nadi Bay is a perfect place for when you arrive in Nadi to get yourself sorted before going out to the islands, also good for when you get back before you set off to your next international destination. the accommodation is clean and you can choose on what size dorms you want and air con or non air con. the dorm I stayed in had been refurbished and was nicely done nothing too flash but really comfortable. The staff were great and the food in both restaurants was excellent (I tried both!). It is perfectly located for a local bus ride into Nadi Town (FJ$0.65) waited five minutes for a bus! A walk to the beach which i did but not worth it if your going out to the islands (as Wailoaloa Beach is black sand but a dirty beach that is not very inviting, nothing compared to the Yasawas!). The other good thing was their Global Gossip internet -- really fast access. There seemed to be heaps of free stuff on offer at Nadi Bay, free morning tea, free movies, free Kava taste! There was nothing that I could complain about I really enjoyed my time there and would recommend all sorts of different types of travelers to stay there! — B , UK (2008-08-18) Overpriced of 25% compare to competition.
