Nadi Downtown Backpackers Hostel

Great staff but very basic
I only stayed one night and was very impressed with the staff -- they're heaps friendly and helpful. The room was very basic and if you don't mind the noise from the night club across the street it should be fine. I would not choose to stay here again.

Rustic, but excellent in help and kindness
I mean it's not a Hilton and if you are really picky then you might find it too simple, but I felt comfortable and secure. for a stay of one or two nights to get an orientation and your further trip planned, it is the best you can get in Nadi. Prakash and Dave helped me a lot with my whole trip and I totally recommend this place for the start or the end of your journey on Fiji Islands. You can tell them what you would like to do, and how your budget is, and they're gonna take care of you! The free Internet is a great bonus and the price is more than fair! So if you are a real Backpacker, then you will like it.

Friendly and Clean and Very welcoming
The Hostel is a very warm, welcoming place. Dorm rooms are clean and daily cleaned, with en-suite bathrooms. the people who work here are very friendly, will help you pick which island is best or which you would prefer, cheap and very affordable to the traveler. On the first night in Nadi Down Town Hostel the manager Dave explained the National kava ceremony and had many Kava drinks with us! He explained some words we could use here in Fiji to be more loved by the locals.

Fuckin' dump
worst place i have ever stayed. never in my life did i see anything like it. people slept underneath the tables in the bar, cold water, filthy rooms, and horrible kava. do not stay here.

What more could you want
Free internet, free tea and toast in the morning, great helpful Staff. Yes the rooms may not be the most updated but they are clean and people don't usually spend that much time in Nadi anyway preferring to head off to the Islands. I would recommend the Downtown Backpackers made even better by the great price.

Really good
I stayed here for six days either side of my visit to the Islands and found it really really good fun. The location was excellent, so close to all major amenities, and right in the heart of the town. Although basic Downtown is great value for money clean accommodation, and free tea and toast in the morning, what more can you ask for. I found the atmosphere fantastic largely down to the staff who are superb, so friendly, helpful, and always smiling. all in all i would recommend Downtown to anyone a great first and last stop on your Fiji adventure.

Bargain
The Staff are Helpful, and the place is cheap. The rooms are a bit out of shape. Try to get a room not to the street, because it's noisy.

Fun, cheap in central location, great tour offers, very nice staff
I really liked the place. Good people there. They offer good and fun trips. Had a great day tour with our fantastic guide Chand (it was really a great and fun day)! The mud pool at the end was a lot of fun too.

Realy good and friendly
Good Hostel, Nice and friendly Staff. Rooms very big and always clean. Pretty good prices and free Breakfast. Big thanks to Chaind helping us to plan our traveling along the Islands.

A good place
Nadi Downtown Backpackers Hostel is very good because they offer many things like free breakfast, bathroom in the room, free internet, free airport transfer. and they have many informations about tours that you can do around Fiji Island. They are always smiley face and always help you. The prices are very nice.

We paid for a twin room with en-suite and air conditioning. it was great value for money, centrally located, friendly staff, clean room, and lovely with the fan and air con. the bathroom was basic but had all you needed so no complaints there. the room was more than worth what we paid for it. I would recommend staying in this hostel.

A nice and friendly place, very good value for what you pay. Can get noisy at nights due to the night club in the close vicinity. Very clean, rooms and restrooms are being wiped daily and clean sheets and towels are provided. All dorms, even the cheapest one for 12 dollars have got air-con.

The Backpackers is a cheap, centrally located place to stay, however I agree about the cleanliness of the place. The rooms have a musty smell to them and the bathrooms aren't clean. The guy on reception kept pestering to have a massage with release, and making lewd sexual comments, this is perhaps to be expected as some of the rooms are used by guests who only want them for an hour. The free internet usage they offer is not worth it, as it is dial-up, so takes forever to be connected and is painfully slow. On the whole, even though it is cheap and well positioned, I wouldn't recommend the Nadi Downtown Backpackers Hostel.

we stayed here one night before our flight home and it was just what we needed, crisp clean sheets a double room with air-con at discount price, good menu, drinks by the pool, and friendly staff as well as evening entertainment. it's cheap and cheerful, very western but quiet and comfortable.

We arrived on a late evening flight and got hoodwinked by a tout and got sent here. What a crappy place. We were told there was only a deluxe room available. Room was spacious and looked groovy but the sheets had not been washed -- they stank of old sweat. The bathroom had not been washed ever -- there was mould on the ceiling, walls, sink, shower curtain, and pubic hair in the bath! The 'shower' was a hole in the wall at shower height where the shower fitting used to be and it dribbled brown rusty water which was cold. If this was the deluxe, I hate to think what the budget rooms are like. There were no staff to complain to as it was late and they were all gone. As we left at five a.m. the next morning, we never actually saw any staff. The disco next door thumped till four a.m. and the door to the balcony did not lock so it didn't feel secure especially when it overlooked the main street. A plus -- they had free airport transfers, but it may be cheaper to catch a taxi to decent digs. Only come here if you want to sleep and bathe in filthe and waste your money.
