The Beachouse

• GETTING TO THE BEACHOUSE:
• There is a local bus service to the Beachouse approximately every hour (during daylight hours) from Lautoka, Nadi or Suva. Simply ask a local where the nearest bus stop is (one at the departure end of airport terminal & one opposite the airport gate, outside Raffles Hotel, 2min walk). The first bus comes through the airport at 7am daily (Pacific Express) & the last bus is at 6pm. Taxi drivers at the airport may try to convince you that there are no more buses that day, as they are trying to get you to hire a taxi. There is approximately one bus coming through the airport per hour (actual bus times can be sourced on this link: http://fijibeachouse.com/fijibustimetables.html )
• The bus trip takes approximately 2 hours from Nadi and costs about F$9.00 per person. Where possible, try to use Express buses as they stop less often, Stage buses stop where ever somebody rings the bell & this can make the journey slower. All buses stop at the Beachouse (about 40 minutes after the Sigatoka stop when coming from Nadi). The buses drop you at the entrance to the Beachouse and it is only a 2 minute walk to the Resort and the beach.
• If you plane arrives in to Nadi Airport in the evening (after 5pm), we suggest that you consider staying a night in Nadi and then travel down to the Beachouse the next day - as a taxi at night will cost you about F$80. The last bus to pass through the airport is at 6pm. Some budget overnighters used by our guests include: Nadi Bay Hotel, Smugglers Cove & Horizon Beach Resort (cheap option for dorm accom), Traveller's Beach Resort. Closer to the highway & airport you have Nomads Skylodge. These and other hostels generally have courtesy vehicles that will pick you up at the airport. Coming down to the Beachouse in the daylight hours by bus is cheaper & will allow you to enjoy the sights along the way.
• If you arrive at the airport shortly after 6pm and really want to come straight to the Beachouse by the cheapest means available other than a cab; catch a local bus to the main Nadi Bus Stop (buses leave from outside the airport gate) & then look for a minivan going towards Suva. There tend to be minivans leaving the main bus stand until about 9.30 each evening. This is an unregulated service (they leave when they have enough passengers), but should be reliable up until about 8pm. The minivans cost about F$10 per person.
