Lovely character; Great location; good place to meet similar travellers; friendly young man at the counter was very helpful, although his colleague seemed rather blunt. It's fine for me as I understand the Chinese way, however maybe some foreigners could find it rude.
Nevertheless the world is of all kinds..I would still recommend this place!

The building is really beautiful. It's an old house with a courtyard and the common area is comfortable. They have a lot of dvds and you can use the computers for free.

Rooms were good sized and shared bathroom was clean. If you take the bus from the train station, the stop you need is right in front of a hospital and the street for the hostel will be just to the north of the hospital. It is a decent walk to the gardens, but everything is so spread out that this is unavoidable no matter where you stay.

It's really easy to find on the bus from the train station. It's a very quiet and relaxed place to stay with a good communal area for reading or chatting. The staff were very helpful and friendly.
