Description
Il Casello - Hostel and Bed & Breakfast opened in November 2005 and is located 50m from the railway station of Verrès, around 500m from the university and 30km from Aosta. Verrès lies in the "Valle Centrale" at the entrance to the Valle d'Ayas, and can easily be reached by bus from the station.
The hostel is in an ideal position for those who want a relaxing holiday or just a stop in the middle of a culturally riche environment. Centrally located in the region, it is perfectly placed for mountain bike excursions (on hire or BYO), visits to the castles, food and wine tasting excursions, rafting and rock climbing.

Friendly hosts, family-like atomosphere, quiet at night besides an occasional train. Only 50 meters from train station, so easy access to trains.

It's a funny, slightly eccentric place, really designed for kids and families but we still enjoyed it. Quiet at night. Secure parking and right next to station. Breakfast was good. Internet PC available. The staff were very helpful, some Italian or French was handy. Great value for those on a driving holiday.

Clean room and good breakfast considerińg south Europe. Free parking behind the locked gate. Free internet. Funny watch dog!

Very friendly owners but only Italy language can be used. Smell inside (from e.g.kitchen) was a bit bad. We were a big skiing team (11 guys) so it was a bit difficult to find any other accommodation for 5 nights nearby Breuil-Cervinia. Luckily we had cars. Reasonable place just for low cost overnighting.

The proprietors were very helpful when we arrived late after a very long day's travel to find that the hostel was full, despite the webside having confirmed our places there. They went to great lengths to ensure we had somewhere to sleep - a lovely couple and a pleasant hostel. I don't know whether the mistake is Hostelbookers or the hostel's responsibility. Nevertheless, all well in the end.
