Finca Joco Mico - Nicaragua Farmstay & Adventure Reviews

Location and Contact

Location

• Finca Joco Mico is not difficult to reach and is conveniently located 15 kilometers outside of Diriamba only 1 hour from Managua and Granada. The farm is within reach to the Pacific Ocean beaches for surfing. Buses run to our farm 4 times and day and currently costs 14 cordobas. Mototaxis also run all day from Diriamba and costs 100-150 cordobas.
• If you're at the Managua airport, feel free to print out the directions in Spanish at the bottom of this page to give to the driver. Otherwise,
• Via Public Transport from Managua:
• Get a taxi to the UCA in the center of Managua. Catch a microbus to Jinotepe/Diriamba and get off at the parada (bus stop) in the public market of Diriamba. Ask for the bus to Las Mercedes/El Aguacate. Bus times are 7am, 1 pm, 3 pm, and 5 pm. The last bus on Sunday is usually before noon. Covered moto taxis (like tuk-tuks in India or Thailand) are available for 150-200 cordobas in Diriamba and will go directly to the farm. Ask the bus driver to drop you off in Las Mercedes, which is about 10 km from Diriamba.
• The farm is only 5 minutes away by foot once you get off the bus in the center of Las Mercedes. From Las Mercedes, follow the main road straight (south) across a dry streambed, stay to the right, and our farm will be the first entrance on the left with a black gate. Open the gate and come on in! If you have any questions, just ask someone where the gringo or Jasmina lives!
• Via car or taxi from Managua:
• Go south on the Pan-American Hwy until you come into Diriamba. A few blocks before you see the big clock along the highway, be looking for the green sign on the right side that says Boquita/Casares and turn right onto that road. Go about 1 or 2 km until you get just outside of town and look for a bus stop on the left side.
• Turn RIGHT on the road across from the bus stop and go about 4 or 5 km. You'll get to a steep downhill, cross a bridge, and up the incline. At the top of the hill, turn left onto a dirt road and go approx. 5 km past a village called 'Aguacate'. You'll continue past this village and turn left at the first dirt road you get to. That road goes to 'Las Mercedes'- our barrio.
• Go straight through the village (only about 1 km), and you'll cross a dry streamed. Come up the hill and we're the first black gate on your left. If you have any questions along the way, you can us at 8566-7049 or 8804-1494, or ask anyone where Jasmina or the gringo lives. Any local will help you out no problem.
