Magnetic Island's first small hostel and the first backpackers in the world - commencing in 1964. Beachfront on the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, it's now known and respected as Arcadia Beach Guest House & Car Hire. We are situated directly across from beautiful Geoffrey Bay and offer a unique, clean and friendly atmosphere. All linen and towels are supplied as well as tea and coffee. Snorkeling equip, 4 wheel drives and cars for rent.
The accommodation on offer includes dorm, twin, queen, king rooms, ensuite rooms, two studio apartments's and a 2 bedroom cottage overlooking the beach, and for something a little different, the four Safari Tents, which are located in our tropical gardens, consisting of queen beds and twin beds, power, light and fan. There are three communal areas for you to relax and meet new people, ample bathrooms, 2 kitchens, wood-fired pizza oven, pool table and swimming pool.
The guesthouse is centrally located with restaurants, general store, internet cafe, pub, bottleshop and more just a short walk away. Geoffrey Bay across the road and Alma Bay just minutes away, both these beaches offer some of the best shore based diving and snorkeling available, with minimal interference by jellyfish stingers.
