Zagreb Soul Hostel is a large hostel in the capital and largest city in Croatia, which is the main hub to travel southward to the Balkans and north toward Slovenia and Hungary. The hostel offers multiple types of accommodation (privates, singles, and dorms), with more than one hundred twenty-five beds, located about two-and-a-half kilometers outside of the center; Zagreb is quite a big city with a historical center and a larger suburb outside.
The Location
As mentioned, the hostel is located about thirty minutes away from the city center by foot. The bus and tram station is right next to it, so you can easily reach the center. The bus station can also be reached by bus in about fifteen minutes. There are heaps of supermarkets around the area, and it seems quite safe at night.
Rooms and Bathrooms
The hostel owns two entire floors in a large building and it has many rooms of dorms with bunks beds, and privates or doubles. Beds are quite new but of a low quality, and mattresses are not very comfy. Bedsheets are very little, and same goes for the pillow. There are lockers available in each room, and you have to use your own padlock. Bathrooms are to be shared with the other guests, and there are several for each floor. Toilets and showers are separated and hot water is available. Common areas, rooms, and bathrooms are kept well cleaned.
Common Spaces
There is not much of a common space available. A small shared kitchen can be used by guests, and cooking equipment is useful, though a bit outdated. In addition, there is a common room with some sofas, a computer (which was broken during our stay), and a TV with a pool table. The hostel seems to be quite new and still has few bookings as most of the rooms are empty. Hence, the vibe is very quiet and not easy to spot other travelers and meet people. It is also outside of the city center, so guests use it just as a place to sleep after spending the day out exploring.
Summary
As this place seems freshly opened, it has some great opportunity to improve. It's not in the center but public transportation can easily help you get there. It's not a great place for a happening vibe, but it's just a place to crash. It's also not really suitable to solo travelers because it is hard to interact with others, so it may be better suited to groups or couples.

Location
• From Main Bus station:
• When you exit the station, cross the street and wait for the tram number 5 or 7. Drive for 4 tram station and exit the station called Masiceva. Turn right after 20 meters in Kuslanova St. Number 2 (next to the caffe) is Zagreb Soul Hostel.
• From Railway station:
• Go across the street (but not the tram tracks), and wait for the tram number 4. Get off on the seventh station called Masiceva, and turn right after 20 meters turn to Kuslanova St., and number 2 (next to the caffe) is Zagreb Soul Hostel.
• From Airport:
• There is an organized public transportation to the Main Bus Station. When you get there, go to the tram station and wait for tram number 5 or 7 (to the north). Drive for 4 tram station and exit the station called Masiceva. Turn right after 20 meters in Kuslanova St. Number 2 (next to the caffe) is Zagreb Soul Hostel.
• Bus and tram tickets can be bought from public transport drivers, or at any Newspaper Kiosk.
