Chiloe Austral Hostel is a backpacker hostel located in Ancud, Chiloe Island - hosted by its owners, a chilota” family, all born and raised in this land. Due to this characteristics all guests will have the choice to learn about this fantasti culture, its traditions and lifestyle, such as “curanto”, a chilota typical food which is prepared and served by and for the owners and guests.
The building has a typical “chilota” architecture, it was built all by its owners with evergreen wood.
The hostel is located about half block from the seashore or the “costanera” avenue, only two blocks from the Cruz del Sur bus station, 800 mts from the municipal bus station, 4 blocks from the regional museum, downtown main square, the cathedral and local market where you can buy seafood, fresh fruit and vegetables as well as try the delicious local couisine.
You will experience a wonderful stay at the hostel with a great sunrise and sunset view at the sea from all the rooms and balcony. You can enjoy our roofed barbecue area, the entertainment room which has cable tv, laundry service,wireless internet connection, board games or just sit and relax at the porch on the second floor. We can also arrange tours in the island, car and bike rental for you.

Location
• Located two blocks the bus station Southern Cross, a seven blocks from the Square,major banks,municipal market, Museum of the churchs of Chiloe.
• 282 Yungay Street.
• If you use the Buses called Cruz del Sur, they will leave you in the Terminal with the same name, located in the street No 850 in Ancud.
• After that you will have to go down the treet for half a block in The Cavada street and bend to the right for Lautaro street.
• Continue along the whole street to Yungay Street No 282, near the corner of Lautaro.
• Through Municipal Bus Terminal: Check Route 5 South Arturo Prat Street (both directions).
• On foot or by public transportation: the public buses arriving to Chiloe Austral Hostel always say in their signs Fatima, which will travel along Avenida Prat, to finally turn right to reach the Avenida Costanera and follow almost all the way until you reach the intersection between this street and Yungay street.
• When you get there, stop after the Dental Laboratory Chilodent.
