A beachfront paradise for travelers and surfers on a budget, The Hostile Hostel is friendlier than it sounds...
We're your hosts, Sara & Laura, a couple of best friends from California who moved to paradise to open our dream hostel! Our home is your home, a big happy house on the beach in Aguada with plenty of sunshine and lots of good vibes.
The Hostile Hostel is a big, yellow house on the beach by Table Rock, a world class surf spot. Upstairs we have three shared dorm rooms with four beds each, two bathrooms, two large communal chill spaces, a huge gourmet kitchen, and a balcony with ocean views you're going to have a hard time leaving. Downstairs we have another large shared dorm with six beds, a separate bathroom and kitchen, and a nice sunny communal living and dining area.
The garden is the best part, with a huge wrap around lawn and gated parking for almost a dozen cars! There's a big lawn in front of the ocean with a picnic table for meals and lawn chairs for relaxing. And, we have an outdoor kitchen with two gas BBQs and plenty of seating for communal outside dinners. Just outside on the beach is another lawn area, two hammocks hanging under palm trees, and a oceanfront slackline too!
We want you to feel at home here and offer an included breakfast of waffles, coffee and tea every morning! We also host lots of communal BBQs and are never opposed to an impromptu dance party :)
The Hostile Hostel offers a wash&fold laundry service, luggage storage, and a paid towel service and gated parking.
Please note that this is a DOG FRIENDLY hostel! We have dogs on the property and do allow you to bring yours too! Contact us for more information on bringing your pet.
Aguada is located on the central part of Puerto Rico's West Coast- right in the middle of the surf zone. This is the perfect spot for surfers to stay, just 15 minutes north of all the breaks in Rincon and a short 20 minute drive to Aguadilla and Isabela's breaks- you're always close to a wave that's breaking here.
Outside of surfing, there's so much to do within a day trip distance. Visit waterfalls, take an eco tour and go hiking, or cruise and endless stream of postcard perfect beaches. Check out Camuy Caverns, one of the largest underground cave systems in the world less than two hours away. Bio bays are a short 1.5 hour drive south to La Parguera in Lajas where you can take kayak or boat tours to check out glowing green bio luminescence in the ocean.
The local nightlife in Aguada is VIBRANT, with calypso bands, local cover bands, awesomely terrible djs spinning electronic music, cheap beer and street food- what else could you want!? Well, occasionally you could want a nice sit down meal and more touristy creature comforts, and Rincon is great for that, just 15 minutes south.
