• Metro is 20 minutes walk (£1.70 single or £2.30 return / Day ticket, 10 minutes) to Monument, railway station or airport.
• Taxi is £7 from Newcastle train station or Newcastle City Centre'

Location and Contact

Location

• From Monument or St James Metro Station:
• Take bus 39 or 40 towards Walker or Wallsend. Single ticket (£2.20). Ask for Walker Library. Once on the bus, after about 10 - 15 minutes you will pass a roundabout. It is 3 stops from here. When you see Walker Library on your right hand side (there is a sign) or Premier (small convenience store with yellow sign) on left hand side; ring bell to get off the bus at Welbeck Road/Cowen Street stop. You will be outside Magic Wok Chinese restaurant and opposite YMCA Central Office. Cross the road and walk back towards the library that you have just passed, behind the library off the main road is a seat, go towards this. You can go left or right. Turn right up Parsons Avenue and go straight ahead for 3 minutes. We are on the corner.
• From Train Station or coach station: Your coach may drop you off at St James Boulevard or outside the train station.
• From St James Blvd: walk 5 minutes past the Life Centre to the train station.
• From Train Station:
• On Foot: 10 minute walk up Grainger Street to Monument: Statue of Earl Grey: Take bus 39 or 40 (See above)
• By Bus: From Train Station: Cross road to other side. Take bus 22 towards Wallsend. Buy a Transfare single ticket: Zone One(£2.60) or a day ticket (£3.70) on the bus. After about 10 minutes on the bus you will pass go over a bridge. Get off here. If you miss the stop don't worry you can get the bus from the next stop. From the same bus stop that you got off the first bus or nearby bus stop: take bus 39 or 40 towards Walker or Wallsend (Show the ticket you have bought on the first bus) Get off at Walker Library (See above)
• Transfare tickets: Get off at Byker Metro, turn left past some shops onto the high street (Shields road) cross the road, take bus 39 or 40 to Walker Library (See above)
• By Metro: From inside train station: Look for the big 'M'. From ticket machine: Either buy £1.60 single ticket (Zone A) or Transfare ticket Z1: Zone One : £2.60 (this is also valid on the bus): Take Metro train towards Monument, then change to metro towards South Shields via the coast. Make sure that Byker or Chillingham Road or Walkergate is on the list of stations it's stopping at. Get off at any of these. All are about 20 minutes walk.
• From Walkergate Metro Station: Come out of the station, cross the road to the Post Office, to the right go up Coutts Road past a small church, go straight ahead for 10 minutes, you will come to a roundabout, go straight ahead down West Farm Road for another 10 minutes, go right up Parsons Avenue and go straight ahead for 3 minutes. The B&B is on the corner.
• From Newcastle Airport: Take Metro. Buy 'All Zones' for £3.10 (single ticket) or Transfare £3.70 (this is also valid on the bus)
• Take Metro towards Monument. Change to South Shields (Via the Coast). Make sure that Byker or Chillingham Road is on the list of stations stopping at. Get off at either station. It's a 20-minute walk or change to a bus (As above)
• You can also change at Monument. Transfare is also valid on the bus.
• From International Ferry Terminal / Royal Quays Outlet Shopping Centre: Walk 20 minutes to Percy Main Metro Station: buy 1 zone ticket (£1.60 single) Get off at Walkergate Metro Station (4 stations, 10 minutes on the metro)
• By Taxi: Please contact us for local taxi numbers. This company has quoted the following fares. Other companies prices may differ:

• From Airport (£12 - 15)
• By car:
• From Newcastle City Centre, we are 4km away: Take A186 (City Road) turn left up St Anthony's Road, right up Wharrier Street then take the first left.
• Day tickets: If you want to buy a ticket that is valid for one day then you can buy one of the following:
• Metro Day Saver (Valid for one day travel on the Metro)
• Zone A: £2.30 for Zone A which will take you from the city centre to the house (Before 9am: £2.70)
• Zone A - C: £4.20 for Zone A - C: This will take you from the airport to the house (Before 9am: £5)
• Stagecoach Day ticket: £3.70 valid for one day travel on 'Stagecoach company' buses which will take you from the house to Newcastle City Centre and around (Valid all day)
• Day Rover: £6.80 valid on all buses and the Metro.
• Explorer North East: £9 valid for one day travel on all buses and Metro in Tyne and Wear, Northumberland and parts of North Yorkshire and Cumbria. You can travel from Whitby and Scarborough by bus to Newcastle on this ticket.
