Excellent i arrived here in feb 2002, meaning to stay a couple of weeks as it was my first visit to oz and i wanted to travel around. i ended up staying for three months and having my thirtieth birthday there! although i only really knew the people who i traveled with, i had the best birthday ever. i recommend this to anyone staying in perth. yeah,a little way out from the centre but still walking distance. BBQs, internet, booze fridge, and lovely park about a hundred yards away. — steve haynes , england (2008-11-20)
Shocking The place isnt terrible, but hay it aint very good either!! Try leaving the front lights on after 6pm, so we can see how to get in, clean it up a bit, and spend a few bucks on some new curtins, carpets, and clean the rooms more than once a week, and i might come back. Aomebody in charge and manning the desk moe than an hpor a day be good also. reality is there are a lot of much much better joints in town, that would be much better vaule for money than here. — Dalhan M , UK (2008-05-20)

My home away from home spinners was the place to be. we had some laugh with spinner and everyone who was staying there. it was so homey we didn't want to leave. we had tears in our eyes leaving. — caroline il b back , dublin ireland (2007-06-21)Note from the Hostel: We are a backpackers for genuine backpackers. We would rather have a bed free in the hostel than to let a d*ckhead in and upset the chilled out family atmosphere we are known for, unlike alot of other backpacker hostels who let anyone in just for the money. We would prefer our backpackers feel safe and relaxed. — Management (2006-06-22)

I popped in at Spinners for a week back in 2000 and ended up extending my visa and staying three months -- Spinners rocks! — Jamie (2006-04-11)

i stayed for 2 weeks in 2004 i had the best time, and felt at home with the rest of the people staying there, thanks to everyone who was there, a very memorable time! — jon (2005-12-28)
Hi, this place was POOR. I usually don't bother writing these, but made a point for this particular establishment. To start with it was far out. (Nowhere near "the entertainment area"). When I got there I was disappointed by how sh*tty it looked compared to the cool places Perth has. The place didn't have a reception. After being let in reluctantly by "some guy" I found out no one knew who was in charge, and some cleaner-type guy tells me the place is booked, without even asking who I was. And in fact I had booked. When the person "in charge" came out at last it was only to tell me that they don't accept Australians as matter of policy!? Ironic, considering how much Aussies travel, and the country is expansive. Fair enough if you're in some dodgy country, but Aussies should be able to stay in their own country!
Either way I took the comment without resistance because I couldn't wait to get out of the dump! It was honestly such a dive. Overall, a very, very BAD PLACE. You have so much better to choose from. — Discovery (2005-10-16)

Just number one in Australia. Spinner, Nan and Mill are sensational and Spinner's new pub, The Shed, is just legendary. Thanks for the best three months of my travels. Love you all, Jess. — Jess (2005-05-24)

It's just sensational, the number one hostel in Oz by a mile spinner. Mil and Nan go out of their way to look after you. It's just like a home away from home. Thanks for the best four months of my travels. — Pauly (2005-04-04)

I loved it. We had a super time in Spinners, and as everybody says, Spinner is great, and so is Nan. It's one big happy family. Nowhere else in Perth is quite the same. I stayed for three months! Thanks, Spinner - Jacq — Anonymous (2005-03-08)

This is the best hostel I have ever stayed at. It has a very nice atmosphere and a lot of nice boys. Every Wednesday the whole hostel goes out to party, directly in Northbridge (where there's good nightlife). — Andrea (2004-11-23)

Priceless. The best hostel I have ever stayed in. The atmosphere is brilliant, and Spinner will crack you up. I was supposed to stay for two weeks and ended up there for three months, with a huge gang of people who all didn't want to leave. — Ted (2004-07-04)

I stayed in this hostel in 2001 for 2 weeks. It was the best hostel ever, and Spinner the owner is the soundest bloke ever. — Glynner (2004-05-04)

I've been travelling since 2001 and Spinners is by far my fav hostel! Best atmosphere - everyone mixes - great hostel nights out in The Post Office, The Dean & The Bog & of course the laughs at the BBQ's! I make sure all I know going to Perth stays here! — Anonymous (2004-04-06)
