A large attractive stone built house situated on the village green. Built in the 1930's, it has thick red sandstone walls, oak floors and leaded windows. A real fire in the lounge adds to the warmth of this cosy hostel. A large garden with resident red squirrels, as well as rabbits and birds, provides a delightful space to pass a sunny afternoon/evening. Situated on the Pennine Way, and surrounded by the beautiful North Pennines landscape, this is a very popular hostel with walkers and cyclists as well as families.
