The ServiceWorld Chinatown Hostel is a premier hostel adjacent to People’s Park, the site of the original historic Chinatown in Singapore, which is located at the entrance of the Chinatown MRT Station. Chinatown is known for its exotic and colorful crowded streets, authentic shop houses and the long stretches of eating places in various cuisines, cheap souvenir shops and shopping centers. Although this hostel is located in a crowded Chinatown street, one can still get close to nature to enjoy morning exercise or take a stroll in a garden setting, because the entrance to the Pearl's Hill City Park is at the rear of the hostel building.

The Hostel is located at the heart of chinatown, offering convenience and accessibility not to mention it is located directly above the supermarket so whatever you may need, you can always go down and get it at the supermarket! And at the rear of the hostel, there is a huge park of 10 acres, that guest can go to and enjoy the day.

This Hostel is indeed “A Home Away from Home”. It offers a very clean and comfortably spacious dormitory, a large kitchen, common area with TV, toilet and bathroom and a shower room. Location	•The hostel is located on top of the Sheng Siong Supermarket. • • If you go to Chinatown from Changi Airport, take the MRT from the Airport MRT Station to the Outram Park MRT station; then switch to the NE line to take the MRT to the Chinatown MRT station. • Take the exit to the People’s Park Complex and walk toward the OG Departmental Store and then to Upper Cross Street. • From OG at Upper Cross Street, turn left and walk along Upper Cross Street. • First, you walk past the junction at Park Crescent. Walk on until you reach the next road junction at Pearl’s Hill Road. • There you will find Block 52, Chin Swee Road right in front of you. • Walk up to the third level near the main Staircase. • Here you will find the hostel. • Remember, the hostel is right on top of the Sheng Siong Supermarket located on the ground floor. • • If you wish to take bus to the hostel, take Bus number 174 or 51 from Orchard Road to Upper Cross Street. • Stop at the bus stop opposite the Subordinate Courts and then walk to the hostel at Chin Swee Road. • From Pearl's Centre, next to the Outram Park MRT Station, one could take Bus number 143 to go to Upper Cross Street, and stop at the bus stop opposite the Subordinate Courts in front of Block 34, and then take the lift to the 3rd level and walk to the hostel at Block 52 Chin Swee Road.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for about a week. The location is good. It is close to the Chinatown MRT, malls and chinatown area. About 15 minutes or 20 to Marina Bay Sands area. The building has an elevator. Tess (the lady in charge) was ready to give us more blankets upon request and is not pushy or aggressive. Hot water all the time. You need a code to enter the place so it is pretty secure. It's a closet with as many beds as can fit. There are no "rooms". Areas are divided by curtains. While I was there it wasn't even full but was still a difficult place to sleep because of all the lights being left on. Breakfast is a loaf of bread and a toaster, don't be fooled. It's an excellent hostel. The great host, Andrew Yip, was enthusiastic about telling about his self-planned 1 day-tour as well as Singapore's culture and history. What surprised me was the bread, jam and butter provided in the morning (Of course it's self-serviced).
