The Hostel accommodation is Situated 300 yards from one of the best surfing and blue flag beaches in Cornwall and is above Sick, Lame and Lazy shop.
Accommodation comprises a 4 bed room, 6 bed room & Private double room - All rooms with ensuite facilities (shower, toilet, and washbasin)
Continental breakfast included,
Free use of Communal Lounge and kitchenette.
Euro currency notes accepted - but please check beforehand!
Groups over 4 in size please contact direct BEFORE making your booking. Check -in from 3pm-8pm (later check in please contact) Latest check-out 10.30am
The decking area is ideal for sunbathing. and we can arrange the hire of Body boards, surfboards and wet suits.
Only a close walk to one of the best beaches in Cornwall for surfing.Car Parking spaces opposite

Porthtowan Backpackers is just a few steps away from the beach & cliffs. In the center of a very quite village (at least in November).
Steve & Jane made us feel at home very quickly, and were very helpfull in making our stay to the best. They made us almost feel part of the family for a couple of days :)
Steve was full of tips & stories about the region.
We are missing the chats at breakfast in the flower shop ;)

Steve is absolutely great and full of lots of information - it really made a difference having a host who genuinely wanted to meet his guests, make sure that everything was ok, and offer as much help as he can to make our stay as good as possible. The surf lesson with Spence was great fun, and Porthtowan a lovely part of the world that I am looking forward to returning to...and when I do, I'll stay at Porthtowan Backpackers again! I loved everything about this quaint little surfing town. Porthtowan Backpackers is packed full of character, a real surfers hostel. The owner is flawlessly friendly and had good knowledge of the area. Really good location if you’re after a relaxing beach holiday. The Blue Bar 2min down the road is excellent for good food and atmosphere. Can’t wait to visit again next summer!!!

Spent some days there in May and just had to come back. Have never experienced such a warm and welcoming atmosphere anywhere else. This place will always feel like home away from home. The good vibe there made it both possible for people to meet, and to make new friends, and to have some time on your own. Absolutely not the last time I go visit that wonderful place..
