Red Palm is most excellent. I booked one night hoping to pass through Kuala Lumpur and ended up staying three. The staff is incredibly helpful, the common area is very conducive to meeting other travelers, and the location is ideal. As if it wasn't perfect enough already, there's also an Indian restaurant next door where you can just pass money over the wall and have them make you food on demand. I'll stay here again for sure.

Red Palm are fantastic. We arrived late at nite to be greeted with such friendliness, and hospitality. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and even drawing us a map of specific places that we wanted to go. The restaurant next door is great and is open late and make the best Roti Canai and its really cheap (three RM for roti and milo ice). Rooms are nice and basic and shared bathroom is clean. Close to bus station, and the city. Easily accessible. Comes highly recommended!

This place is fantastic, I can't rate it high enough! The atmosphere is just so cool, everyone seems to want to have a good time, and always up for a few beers out in the garden. The rooms are all clean and airy, and the bathrooms are, importantly, very clean as well. The communal area downstairs is very cosy, with hundreds of DVD's to watch on a rainy day. The staff are so friendly and helpful, just a quick example of this, while we where staying here, it was an irish girl's birthday (always an excuse for a party), but the staff cooked all the guests dinner, and made her a cake. So it truly was a fantastic night. I know this is all very gushing and a wee bit cheesy, but there really is nothing bad to say about this place, oh actually there is -- its always fully booked so book in advance if you can. I urge anyone going to KL to stay here!

This place is FANTASTIC! Not only is it extremely clean, neat and tidy, it has the best location right in Central Kuala Lumpur — Bukit Bintang! I stayed here three nights and the owners of this hostel are so welcoming that I found it hard to leave! Kuala Lumpur is a hot and humid city and this place is wonderful and tranquil amidst all the hustle and bustle that surrounds this hostel in this never sleeping city. The hostel is great with lots of DVDs to watch and helpful advice whenever it is needed from the owners. It's a wonderful, charming and homely place in a brilliant city. Highly recommended and better than any other hostel in Kuala Lumpur! 10 out of 10!

Red Palm is the best hostel I have stayed in, in Kuala Lumpur. I had a relaxing stay and the staff felt like friends by the time I left. My room was small yet homely. The kitchen facilities are great. DVDs and the Internet are available for monsoon afternoons. The malls are close but not too close. The only reason not to book here is if you are in KL to party, in which case you're in the wrong city anyway.

Some hostels provide excellent accommodations, with clean rooms and reliable service. The Red Palm does this. But only a handful of hostels go far beyond this and provide an atmosphere that's hard to find. Such is the Red Palm. The staff and their friends come from Malaysia and all over the world, and will provide splendid company throughout your stay. Not to mention the video collection that rivals most Blockbusters ;-) Enjoy KL!
